Midwest Surveys is an employee-owned professional land surveying firm providing geomatics deliverables designed for oil & gas, utility, construction and municipal applications through our ten offices in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.

Increasing work volumes have created opportunities to expand our crew base generating career opportunities for Crew Chiefs within our Medicine Hat operations. These positions require travel, so your home base can be in a city, town or rural area.

Crew Chief duties include:

• Leading a crew performing oilfield and pipeline construction and all other types of field surveying
• Completion of survey calculations
• Communication with clients, field representatives and site supervisors.

Qualifications:

• Previous surveying experience
• Valid Class 5 driver\'s license (abstract required at the time of interview)
• Willingness and availability to work a varied schedule based on client demands. This may include working in remote locations, rotational schedules and extended workdays (overtime eligible)
• Compliance with our drug and alcohol policy, which includes screening, is mandatory
• Physical ability to perform the requirements of the job
• Willingness to work in all types of weather conditions
• Familiarity with all facets of oilfield surveying; including but not limited to wellsite surveys, pipeline surveys and line locating
• Experienced operator of Total Station and GPS technology
• Preferred Candidates will have:

• Degree or Diploma in Geomatics from a recognized technical school
• Experience in midstream pipeline construction surveys
• Multidisciplinary background including oilfield, municipal and construction surveys
