Midwest Surveys is an employee-owned professional land surveying firm providing geomatics deliverables designed for oil & gas, municipal, utility, and construction applications through our ten offices in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.

Our Edmonton location has an available career opportunity for a Crew Chief.

Crew Chief\'s Role:

In this field position, you will be leading a crew performing oilfield, pipeline construction and all other types of field surveying. Travel out of town will be required. Guaranteed number of hours per month is provided for this position.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have:

• A multidisciplinary background including oilfield, municipal, construction and pipeline construction surveying
• Working knowledge of the operation of Total Station and GPS technology
• Valid class 5 driver\'s license (abstract required at time of interview)
• Safety training (i.e. H2S, First Aid, etc.) is required and will be provided as needed
• Willingness to work 40 hours per week (with the potential for overtime)
• Willingness and availability to work a varied schedule based on client demands. This may include working in remote locations, rotational schedules and extended workdays (overtime eligible)
• Compliance with our drug and alcohol policy, which includes screening, is mandatory
• Physical ability to perform the requirements of the job
• Willingness to work in all types of weather conditions
• Preferred candidates will have:

• Completed post-secondary training in a Geomatics/Survey program (equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered)
• Previous Crew Chief experience including familiarity with all facets of surveying, such as well site surveys, pipeline surveys and line locating
• Previous experience with 4X4 trucks, all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles
• Microsurvey or CAD experience
