Join Flair's Maintenance team, where safety, compliance, and service excellence shape every flight. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Maintenance Operations, the Crew Chief AME plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aircraft within Flair. Responsible for overseeing and managing a team of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) and technicians, the Crew Chief provides leadership, technical guidance, and maintains high standards of maintenance quality and safety.


This role is based on-site at our Calgary (YYC) location.

A Day in the Life:




The duties of the

Crew Chief (AME)

include:

Lead a team of AMEs and AME Apprentices by providing ongoing support, encouragement, and guidance to ensure the timely and efficient completion of assigned work Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on aircraft systems, components, and structures Complete maintenance and modification tasks as assigned to maintain company aircraft Ensure accurate completion of required paperwork in compliance with company ACA requirements Provide support, mentorship, and development to AME and Apprentice staff to uphold high maintenance standards Utilize documentation including AMM, SRM, IPC, SBs, and SLs Compile and assist in reporting Service Difficulty Reports (SDRs) Embrace and participate in the company's Safety Management System (SMS) Ensure all tooling is current and serviceable, and documentation is up to date Ensure parts used for maintenance have appropriate paperwork/trace Maintain good housekeeping of company facilities and equipment, reporting any deficiencies Communicate and liaise with maintenance control regarding aircraft deferrals and status Maintain AME license and comply with all training requirements Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:

Education:

+ High School or GED equivalent
+ Hold a valid Transport Canada AME M2 license
+ Boeing 737, including NG and/or MAX endorsements

Experience:

+ Minimum Six (6) years of directly related AME experience
+ Minimum Two (2) years of supervisory experience
+ Three (3) years of maintenance experience with an Air Carrier or AMO

Skills & Abilities:

+ In-depth knowledge of aircraft systems, components, and maintenance procedures
+ Strong understanding of aviation regulations and industry standards (e.g., FAA, EASA, etc.)
+ Excellent leadership and team management skills
+ Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
+ Proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
+ Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
+ Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
+ Flexibility to work irregular hours and be on-call if required
+ Proficiency in computer-based maintenance software, including AMOS
+ Strong administrative, project management, and self-starting skills
+ Demonstrated problem-solving, attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.
+ Intermediate level of skill using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel

Requirements:

+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
+ Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening test
+ Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references
+ Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction
