The position at a glance




The Credit Monitoring Senior Specialist proficiently monitors credit risk exposures provide analysis to facilitate decision making and is a pivotal stakeholder in credit risk management by actively contributing to solve critical situations alongside the senior risk managers.

In detail




Assess risk and take decisions on blocked instructions in a timely manner for standard, recurrent cases, ensuring efficient monitoring while maintaining client focus and respecting RISK guidelines.
Gain autonomy to handle more complex requests under the guidance of senior members, including specific portfolio analysis, stress testing, or leading crisis calls with the support of senior colleagues.
Coach junior colleagues and share best-practices regarding our contribution to the calibration of limits adequate to the clients' activity, working with business and credit teams needs for our analysis and pertinent suggestion.
Actively be on the lookout for system errors, bugs and improvements to ensure adequate data quality of the risk metrics.
Follow up and keep team and management informed of any progress.
Provide guidance to junior colleagues and share best practices of how to collaborate with IT development and Business Analysts to maintain the expected quality of risk metrics.
Maintain a constant flow of information with colleagues and share knowledge.
Provide training to less senior analysts.
Be source of proposal to overcome obstacles encountered.
Act as Credit Risk Monitoring function representative: participate & contribute to help other teams understand our responsibilities and raise risk awareness.
Work together with other key stakeholders (2S Client Lines, 2S Business Credit Risk Office & RISK) to constantly maintain and improve a proper risk framework in place.
Work together with IT development and Business Analysts to ensure all system improvements respect the RISK requirements and expectations about such framework.
Collaborate to growth projects when a monitoring expertise is required.
Contribute to projects related to CIB2S when monitoring view is concerned.
Diffuse the risk awareness via training and information events.

The strengths and skills that will help you succeed




Master degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or IT.
7+ years of exeperience in Risk and Controls, Banking and Financial Operations
Professional working proficiency in French and English
Critical thinking.
Creativity & Innovation/Problem solving.
Ability to share/pass on knowledge.
Ability to develop and adapt a process.
Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of the English is required.
