Our client is currently looking to fill a Senior Credit Underwriter role, a key position in supporting a large strategic program with a global leader in the Powersports and Marine industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare credit write-ups for all underwriting requests in the assigned portfolio
  • Review and approve transactions within credit authority and make recommendations
  • Conduct research and background screening on prospects and customers, run credit reports, and gather/analyze KYC information
  • Conduct complex analysis to support dealers\' expansions and acquisitions
  • Spread business financial statements and tax returns to analyze multi-year trends and ratios from financial information
  • Research and stay informed on industry trends and risks
  • Perform collateral analysis including accounts receivable, inventory, real estate, and investments
  • Prepare inter-creditor agreement documentation as appropriate
  • Work with other functions to monitor delinquency, delinquency trends, and repossession activity
  • Conduct annual financial statement follow-ups for borrowers and track and monitor the receipt of this information
  • Interact with manufacturers and customers, orally and in writing, to address open questions related to customers\' operations and financials.
  • Prepare credit approval requests
  • Train and coach junior credit analysts
  • Special projects as assigned
Hybrid in Downtown Montreal.

Your Profile:
  • 5+ years of wholesale/commercial credit underwriting experience and prior credit approval authority
  • Experience with deal sizes ranging up to $10 million CAD is preferred
  • Experience in lending to a wide variety of industries, loan types, and sizes of companies is preferred
  • Solid experience with secured lending including security perfection documentation
  • Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills, in French and in English
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound business judgments while protecting the interests of the bank
  • Good technical skills with Salesforce, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Education:
Required: Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
Preferred: Master\'s
