Position: Collections/Credit Analyst

ContainerWorld is a state-of-the-art forwarding, warehousing and distribution Company located in Richmond, British Columbia providing premier services for the beverage industry; with approximately 430 employees throughout its BC facilities. ContainerWorld is a subsidiary of Mullen Group publicly traded on TSX.

: Monday-Friday 8.00 am-4.30 pm

Position overview


The Collections/Credit Analyst position works independently with some guidance from others as required, supporting the overall accounts receivable of the company.

This position is responsible for improving overall credit and collections, including maintaining credit policy and procedures. Responsibilities have significant short-term impact on organization wide initiatives and financial performance, with moderate impact on the efficiency of long-term operations.

Lead customer credit controls and assignments

Creating and maintaining credit history files Analyzing and assessing the creditworthiness of accounts and clients using external credit risk management tools and reports

Lead accounts receivable collection activities

Managing the collection efforts and calls for accounts receivable portfolio Documenting daily collections activity Ensure customer statements are up to date and distributed to customers as required Maintain customer database within Accounts Receivable ensuring up to date customer information

Resolve collection disputes

Researching account disputes and billing discrepancies Performing account and payment reconciliations

Liaise external and escalation collection activities

Responding to credit inquiries from external and internal clients Identifying delinquent accounts requiring external collection efforts Identifying bad debt or financial exposure

Assist Finance team

Perform bank reconciliations if required Other duties assigned as the position develops

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree plus 2 to 3 years' experience or specialist certificate/diploma plus 4 to 6 years' experience, or at least 6 to 9 years related experience.

Some judgment exercised to choose from a limited range of established alternatives Problem solving involves independently identifying and analyzing readily available facts Some creative problem solving is required to execute assigned work Written and verbal communication skills are required. Information requires clarification, can be internal or external and may include basic direction, instruction or presentation to others Attention to detail is required Needs to be extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel Strong customer service skills required
