About Us:

Our Communications, Engagement, and Marketing department serves as the cornerstone of our organizational outreach, providing a full spectrum of services to ensure transparent and proactive communication within our city.

Day to day:

As a member of our team, you\'ll be at the helm of crafting our city\'s visual identity standards and developing and designing various marketing and communication materials. Your day-to-day activities will include:

• Developing, communicating, and enforcing the City\'s Visual Identity Standards.
• Collaborating with various departments to coordinate and execute professional concept development, design, art direction, photography, videography, and print/publication of quality communication and marketing materials and campaigns in a variety of mediums.
• Utilizing your expertise in graphic design, layout, illustration, typography, and digital media to create captivating visuals.
• Managing print and pre-press services, from specifications and purchasing to quality control and vendor coordination.
• Providing training and support to colleagues to ensure consistent quality across all materials.
• Acting as a creative consultant for large-scale projects and campaigns.
• Coordinating and tracking projects to ensure timely completion.

To excel in this role, you\'ll need:

• A bachelor\'s degree in visual communications, graphic art and design, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience in graphic design and desktop publishing.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Publisher, HTML, CSS, and content management systems.
• A portfolio of 8-10 pieces showcasing your graphic design work.
• Must be able to demonstrate freedom from colour blindness.
• A valid Alberta Class 5 driver\'s license with a satisfactory driving record.
