Position Overview:
The Crankshaft Salvage Technician is responsible for inspecting, identifying needed scope of repairs and remanufacturing industrial application engine crankshafts and camshafts.
:Efficiently, effectively, and accurately complete all steps in the remanufacturing process for every component in a major product family (up to and including straight shafts and armatures to 78 inches in total length, etc.).
May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:A minimum of 6 months working in Wage Grade 3 or higher. Relevant & applicable external experience to the position will alternatively be considered.
Preference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule C.
Previous experience grinding industrial crankshafts is preferred.
Mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn.
Competency in a machine shop environment is preferred.
Previous experience operating cylindrical grinding equipment is preferred.
Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively.
Strong organizational skills and ability to follow work instructions.
Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds.
A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator.
Note:This posting is for a static afternoon shift scheduled Monday to Thursday, 10 hours per shift.
Please note that any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.

Hourly Rate: $31.93 - $43.26 / Hour.
