Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crane & Rigging Supervisor to oversee our construction projects involving cranes and heavy lifting operations. Based in Prince George, BC this role is vital to ensuring the safe, efficient, and successful completion of our projects, aligning with CEC's commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibilities
for this position will include (but not limited to):
Aid in the development of the Hoisting and job execution plans.
Coordinate and supervise hoisting:
o Brief all hoisting team members on the Hoisting Plan, risk control measure and safe hoisting procedure before the commencement of any hoisting operation.
o Ensure that only competent crane operators and appointed riggers participate in any hoisting operation
o Ensure that the ground conditions are assessed and are safe for any hoisting operation to be performed by mobile cranes. If there is question or uncertainty of ground conditions, C&R Supervisor must inform Crane Division Manager.
o Ensure any unsafe conditions are reported, take suitable measures to rectify the conditions prior to the hoisting or set up operations
Supervise daily operational activities for assigned work areas. Ensures work activities are performed in a safe, productive and efficient manner
Reviews lift evaluations and FLHA's on a daily basis to ensure all hazards are identified and mitigated. Coordinates lift studies as required
Ensures all required paperwork including but not limited to; time sheets, FLHA's, work orders, maintenance requests are completed and submitted in a timely manner with any required CEC and or client signatures
Represents the company as a liaison to help resolve any customer, employee, or contractor concerns in a professional manner. Ensures all site rules are communicated to operators, riggers, drivers, or sub contractors and adhered to at all times
Responsible for assisting with dispatching of crane operators and effective management of company operations
Assist Crane Manager with creating quotes for potential work
Assist with coordination of all assets, manpower and equipment.
Assist with calls, communications and emails to customers to solicit jobs
Required qualifications
:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a journeyman crane operator
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory position, foreman or above
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Must be able to read construction drawings and be familiar with specifications and tender packages
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Industry standard safety certificates H2S, WHIMIS, CSTS, Fall Arrest
- Must be able to pass pre-employment, post-incident and site-access Drug and Alcohol Testing
We need someone with strong familiarity with the health and safety standards and specifications required for construction and the capability to assure other employees are following safe work practices and job procedures. We are looking for a team player with leadership skills. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills are an asset. We are looking for someone who is organized, motivated, a self starter, who works well with a team or independently.
Compensation:
Our pay structure follows IUOE 115 regulation
