Position summary:
Reporting to the Associate Director, the Courseware Developer will develop, modify and update online course materials for Dialogue McGill's Language Training Program.
Primary Responsibilities:Creates and updates online course materials and language learning activities in McGill's Learning Management System (myCourses/D2L Brightspace) in consultation with the Language Training Program team
Implements online course content modifications based on feedback
Implements established design principals and uses existing templates, including HTML, PowerPoint, and HTML Style Guide, to create a consistent and stimulating online learning experience
Works closely with IT personnel to provide course lecturers with support for online teaching technology use, especially at the start of a language training session
Participates in quality assurance processes and ensures that procedures are implemented
Writes and creates reference material, technical documentation, training documentation, and knowledge-based scripts
Participates at meetings, make recommendations and provide solutions
Provides technical support to learners
Additional courseware development activities as needed for Dialogue McGill's programs
QualificationsDemonstrated mastery working with Brightspace and e-learning authoring tools such as Storyline 360
Demonstrated mastery of multimedia technology (PowerPoint, Camtasia, Photoshop, authoring software, animation tools, etc.)
Experience working with HTML and external learning tools (e.g., H5P)
Advanced level capabilities for editing image and video and developing visual layouts and simple animations
Solid search skills (knowing where to find information and identify quality information sources)
Experience hosting of webpages on web server
Strong ability to establish and maintain work priorities and timelines
Excellent interpersonal skills
