Course Description: Science as a means of exploring and explaining our environment. A study of some of the fundamental concepts and process skills common to most elementary programs.This course is not taught electronically or online.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):
EducationMaster's degree related to science education (in exceptional circumstances applicants without a Master's degree but with significant research or professional experience related to the course content may be considered). Education degree or equivalent, and experience teaching in science with elementary-aged children.

ExperienceExpert knowledge of course content: elementary science pedagogy, as outlined in the course description. Knowledge of the Quebec Education program (QEP) specifically in relation to elementary science. Familiarity with the 13 Professional Competencies specified by the Ministere de l'Education. Experience teaching science in the Quebec education school system. Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers.

OtherCommitment to working with a team of committed and engaged instructors. Experience and ability to coordinate and manage a team of teaching assistants for accompanying laboratories. Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting minimum of 2 weeks in advance of course start date.

This course section is taught in French. A high level of proficiency in French and ability to teach in French are required.Art
