Course Description:
EDEC 404 Fourth Year Professional Seminar (Sec)
Preparation for the final field experience and entry into the teaching profession. Emphasis will be placed on developing the ability to demonstrate ethical and responsible professional behaviour in the performance of duties across all professional competencies. Final transition to showcase working professional portfolios will be addressed.

Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Education:
MA in a relevant field (i.e., K/Elementary and/or Secondary teacher and/or principal)
PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset
Experience:
1.Expert knowledge and experience in:
Classroom practices (lesson planning, Universal Backward Design, classroom management, assessment, ethical and professional practice)
The Quebec Education program (QEP)
2.Familiarity with the professional competencies specified by the Ministere de l'Education
3. Teaching experience teaching in the Quebec elementary/secondary school system
Other:
Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers an asset
Knowledge of the impact and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion
Familiarity using myCourses, ZOOM, and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences
Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset
Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning tools.

A commitment to working with a team of committed and engaged instructors
Must be available to attend course coordination and planning in advance of the course start date
A commitment to working collaboratively in planning and delivering the course, to achieve l'approche programme (as mandated by CAPFE)
