Course Description: Microscopy techniques with application to biology and medicine. Practical introduction to optics and microscopy from the standpoint of biomedical research. Discussion of recent literature; hands-on experience. Topics include: optics, contrast techniques, advanced microscopy, and image analysis
Main tasks
The course lecturer will lead lectures and classroom discussions on microscopy fundamentals and advanced techniques. Discussions will center around recent studies using techniques including superresolution fluorescence, multiphoton fluorescence, FRET, optical tweezers, and atomic force microscopy
