About us:

We are a passionate and dynamic team dedicated to nurturing young minds through the UCMAS (Universal Concept Mental Arithmetic System) program. UCMAS is an internationally recognized, brain development program that boosts children's cognitive abilities through mental arithmetic using the abacus. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as UCMAS Instructors!

Position Overview:

As a UCMAS Instructor, you will play a key role in helping children develop mental math skills, improve concentration, and enhance memory and problem-solving abilities. You'll work with students ages 5 to 13, guiding them through UCMAS curriculum using the abacus and mental calculation techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct UCMAS classes and facilitate engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students.
- Teach children mental math skills using the UCMAS abacus-based methodology.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to both students and parents.
- Ensure a positive and motivating classroom environment.
- Participate in training sessions and stay up-to-date with UCMAS techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.

Requirements:

- Passion for working with children and helping them succeed. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn the UCMAS program and abacus techniques.
- Ability to manage and maintain an organized classroom environment.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching.
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience is an asset but not required.
- Availability to work afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends depending on class schedules.
- Must be legally authorized to work in BC, Canada

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
