Starting Pay:

$19.75 per hour

We're looking for a full-time Courier Driver to join our Production Team. You must be committed to our company's values of relationships, quality + innovation. Our Courier Drivers are one of the key members of our team, ensuring customer success and acting as a liaison between our production facility and various internal, external and wholesale customers. They ensure the accurate, safe, and timely daily delivery of Pilot Coffee Roasters products throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Following the completion of deliveries, this role also involves providing support to the broader Production team. Our ideal candidate must be a committed member of our team, while also being diligent to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Calling the appropriate accounts ahead to notify you will be arriving soon if required Smiling and make eye contact with all customers and team members whenever you see them Greet the customer or team members Ask the customer where they would like their deliveries placed. If you can not answer a customer's question to their satisfaction, contact Production Operations Supervisor so they can provide a response to the question.. Always demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude. Follow up on customer issues to resolve Be knowledgeable about the services we provide. Close all deliveries on a positive, thankful note.

DELIVERY PROCESS

Gather and confirm all designated orders against the delivery manifest. Load confirmed orders into the Pilot Coffee Roaster vehicle. Use the appropriate navigation App to map the most efficient delivery route. Complete all scheduled deliveries. Upon returning to Wagstaff, manage and optimize the delivery schedule for the following day. Execute any special tasks assigned by the Cafe Manager or Production Operations Management Team.

SAFE VEHICLE OPERATION RESPONSIBILITIES

To ensure the safety of yourself and others, and to maintain company assets, drivers are required to: Operate the company vehicle to the highest safety standards and take all necessary precautions to protect company assets, including the vehicle and delivery orders. Complete a vehicle inspection checklist daily and monthly. Immediately report any vehicle maintenance or operational issues to Production Operations Leaders. Immediately report all traffic violations, moving violations, and accidents (regardless of severity) to supervisor or manager. Note that all vehicles utilize safety monitor devices to track and monitor driver safety during delivery routes. Keep the Production Operations Leader and appropriate Retail Leaders informed of any issues or concerns that could impact the vehicle's operation or the timely delivery of orders.

HEALTH & SAFETY + FOOD SAFETY

Courier Drivers must adhere to all PCR Health & Safety and Food policies, specifically: Comply with all Food Safety Standards. Comply with all Health and Workplace Safety Standards. Maintain a clean vehicle at all times, including removing any debris or garbage at the end of each shift.

GENERAL DUTIES

Assist the roastery team with various tasks, such as labeling bags and packing orders. Participate in the daily and weekly cleaning schedule to help maintain a tidy roastery.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

A valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory. Prior commercial driving experience in Toronto, including operating larger delivery vehicles like a Sprinter Van, is required. A minimum of a secondary school diploma is a necessity. A forklift license is an asset. Familiarity and proficiency with iOS systems and Google Apps are preferred.
