We are currently hiring for a Counterbalance/Clamp Operator in the Etobicoke area
Clamp Operator
Location Etobicoke
Salary $22.00/hr
Shift 8:00AM-5:00PM
Important Notes Must be able to pass a crim check, have PR or Canadian Citizen
Job Purpose
The Material Handler (Clamp) is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, loading, and unloading of customer products using clamp trucks and other material handling equipment. This role requires precision and attention to detail to prevent product damage, particularly when handling sensitive or high-value freight. The position plays a key role in ensuring the flow of freight across the dock and supporting overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

  • Operate clamp trucks and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently to move freight across the dock, placing and removing product up level E racking and below.
  • Load and unload trailers based on load plans, ensuring freight is placed securely and accurately.
  • Handle sensitive and high-value items with care, avoiding damage during movement or staging.
  • Assist in verifying freight against shipping documentation and report any discrepancies.
  • Follow safety protocols and participate in safety meetings or toolbox talks as required.
  • Support inventory and dock staff by staging product in appropriate areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dock and equipment.
  • Perform equipment pre-use inspections and report any issues or malfunctions to leadership.
  • Collaborate with warehouse team to meet daily service and efficiency targets.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Valid forklift license with experience operating clamp trucks.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a warehouse or freight-handling environment.
  • Strong awareness of safety practices and dock procedures.
  • Attention to detail, especially when handling delicate or uniquely shaped freight.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
