We currently offer a B.A. Minor in Counselling and an Education Stream. We are primarily a teaching-oriented university and department and the successful candidate will also be expected to engage in university and departmental committee work as well as in community outreach. It is expected that all faculty members shall engage in an ongoing process of professional development. POSITION OVERVIEW: This position involves being placed on our Qualified Faculty List to teach one or more courses in Counselling Psychology as needed. We are seeking faculty with expertise and experience to teach any or all of:
  • CNPS 3310 Theories of Counselling
  • CNPS 3320 Career Counselling and Career Education
  • CNPS 3330 Cultural Considerations in Counselling
  • CNPS 4300 Counselling Relationships and Basic Skills
  • CNPS 4310 The Reflective Practitioner
  • CNPS 4330 Group Facilitation

QUALIFICATIONS: A Masters degree in Counselling Psychology or Clinical Psychology from an accredited program. Preference will be given to those with a PhD in Counselling Psychology or Clinical Psychology.
Extensive experience and exceptional record teaching undergraduate university courses
Experience supervising students practicing individual and group counselling skills.
A strong understanding of the value of and a demonstrated commitment to a broad liberal arts tradition in education
Demonstrated potential to create courses that will contribute to the expansion of the department
