Chatrath Counselling Centre is looking for mental health counselling clinician (social worker, psychiatric nurse, psychotherapist, or counsellor). Chatrath Counselling Centre provides services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. We take a collaborative, strengths-based approach and take pride in being client-focused.
Due to high volume of referrals, we are expanding and in need of at least one, if not more, counselling clinicians to join the team. We are offering a flexible schedule with an online booking system in a newly renovated therapy space children's therapeutic play space, comfortable therapy space and a shared office space located in Steinbach, MB.
Services of the successful therapist will be on a contractual basis and will perform as an autonomous mental health practitioner in a collaborative setting. The position may be tailored to varying specialties and experiences.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Completed master's degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or other related preferred. Registered Social Workers with a BSW and 3+ years of professional experience with mental health will also be considered.
- Hold a professional license in Manitoba (if applicable) with liability insurance required
- Provide a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector), Adult & Child Abuse Registry Checks
- Minimum of 2 years experience in supporting individuals, children and families is preferred in such areas as anxiety, ADHD, autism, attachment, trauma, CPTSD, depression, behavioral challenges, emotion regulation, parenting, foster care/child welfare involvement, school challenges, phobias, etc.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and work collaboratively with others
- Skills and experience working with diverse populations
Duties
:
- Provide direct counselling care and support to individuals to enhance overall mental health and wellness and support as they manage mental health disorders.
- Active participation as a team member in case reviews/consults as well as client referrals
- Implement therapeutic interventions s under the supervision of licensed professionals.
- Monitor and document client progress, behaviors, and responses to treatment interventions.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as necessary.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for clients.
