Position Overview



We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic

Costume Designer and Costume Rental Associate

to join our team. This dual role blends sales, customer service and administration with artistic flair--helping customers find the perfect costume while assisting in the design, alteration, and maintenance of costume inventory. The key responsibilities of this role are:

Customer Service & Rental Administration

Open and close store so punctuality is a must Greet and assist customers in selecting costumes for rental or purchase Take accurate measurements and recommend appropriate costume sizing Manage costume fittings, packing costumes for pickup, accepting returns Handle transactions using POS system and maintain accurate rental records Keeping trackers updated and responding to emails and phones Managing/coordinating appointments and keeping track of scheduled bookings Pulling and putting away costumes Provide styling advice and accessory recommendations Maintain costume displays and keep the studio floors organized and clean

Costume Design

Design and alter costumes based on customer requests or seasonal needs Cut and sew costume designs based on specifications and patterns Create historical and unique costume garments Make patterns from scratch and from inventory samples Assist in repairs, laundering, and upkeep of the costume inventory Collaborate on new costume concepts, sourcing materials as needed Maintain sewing machines and design tools in good working condition Track ongoing design projects and ensure timely completion

The qualifications we require are:



5 years experience in retail, costume rental, or theatre preferred 5 years sewing, tailoring, pattern making and costume design skills required Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Experience with excel , GSuite, and Shopify POS Creative problem-solver with attention to detail Familiarity with costume history and fabric types Fashion or costume design education Experience with theatrical costuming or styling Hat styling knowledge Social media or photography skills for promoting designs Flexibility to work variety of hours in mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends, and availability especially during peak seasons (e.g. Halloween) ability to stand for lengthly periods of time

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.50-$20.00 per hour
