Founded in 2013, our client, Organigram, first began as a medical cannabis provider. Today, the company is focused on producing high-quality, indoor-grown cannabis for patients and adult recreational consumers in Canada, as well as developing international business partnerships to extend the company\'s global footprint.

Now, in a time of growth, we are partnering with Organigram in search of a Cost Accounting Manager to join their team in Moncton!

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Cost Accounting Manager is responsible for the on-going analysis of product costing in order to provide meaningful and accurate costing information to all levels of management, to enhance strength and consistency of cost accounting principles and work with cross-functional peers to resolve process issues.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain the Cost Accounting System
  • Collect data necessary to determine costs of production requirements including raw material purchases, labour, and overhead
  • Analyze actual and standard production costs and prepare variance reports
  • Provide reports detailing usage and pricing variances for labour and materials
  • Determine the cost effects of changes to product design, raw materials, and manufacturing procedures
  • Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
  • Prepare documents required for period end internal compliance needs
  • Provide inventory related reports as requested by external auditors
  • Manage the inventory and biological assets costing file per IFRS41
  • Assist in the year end physical inventory count
  • Other related tasks as assigned
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • CPA designation
  • Bachelor\'s degree in accounting or finance
  • Advanced knowledge of cost accounting principles and procedures
  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing (in cannabis industry would be considered an asset)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong skills in variance analysis, attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills coupled with the ability to analyze large populations of data efficiently
