Role Summary



Weed Me is seeking a meticulous and highly results-oriented Cost Accounting Analyst to effectively manage inventory systems, ensure accurate product costing, and maintain operational efficiency. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role is critical for safeguarding inventory integrity, supporting production and finance teams with BOM assemblies, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Duties:



Create and maintain detailed vendor information. Create purchase orders and update PO-related cashflow forecasts. Create capital asset purchase POs and assign them to the appropriate asset accounts. Track shipping files to verify received items and make necessary adjustments. Calculate the item landed cost by item based on the item cost model. Receive bills and adjust raw material and packaging material quantities in the system. Enter and post vendor invoices and manage backup documentation for audit purposes. Apply inventory prepaid amounts to related invoices correctly. Manage and verify excise stamp receipts and reconcile them to the monthly stamp report from the operations team. Track POs to ensure fulfillment and proper closure. Collaborate with Operations and Quality Assurance teams to resolve inventory variances. Assist with vendor relationships and procurement activities to maintain supply continuity. Create and manage new SKUs and inventory assemblies in QBE. Monitor inventory levels to prevent production shortages and ensure timely replenishment. Reconcile QBE inventory discrepancies with monthly physical inventory count reports. Perform SKU assemblies and resolve abnormal assembly transactions. Maintain proper documentation and backup for all inventory transactions. Generate and reconcile comprehensive files from ES to assembly journals in QBE. Generate monthly SKU/Input Lot/Weight reports for month-end closing. Review and adjust inventory valuation summaries to ensure accurate costing. Monitor Inventory Valuation Summary (IVS) to reconcile to Balance Sheet Inventory asset accounts Update and maintain input lot, WIP, and finished product SKU lists. Generate clean and reliable monthly inventory reports to support operations. Track consignment inventory and ensure proper documentation and reconciliation. Perform weekly journal checks for inventory-related transactions. Generate inventory or cost-related reports for decision-making processes. Provide cost support for third-party partner costing requirements. Track and post RTV journals and support monthly RTV refunds. Provide support for generating Health Canada CTLS and CRA B300 reports. Assist in budget and forecast preparation by providing accurate cost data. Continuously improve inventory management processes to streamline tasks. Perform other ad hoc tasks assigned by the team leader.

Qualifications:



Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Supply Chain Management; bachelor's degree preferred. Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and/or QBO. Minimum 3 years of inventory management and cost accounting experience in manufacturing or inventory-heavy environments. Proficient in Bills of Material (BOM) structures and creating. Strong Excel and data analysis skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.). Experience with Ample Organics or Elevated Signals preferred. Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Technical savvy is an asset. Initiative-driven, results-oriented, with a positive work attitude. Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Ability to learn new skills quickly. Adaptable to changing environments. Previous experience in the cannabis industry is an asset.
