Responsibilities:
1. Cost Analysis and Management:
Track, analyze, and report costs associated with manufacturing processes, including raw materials, labor, overhead expenses, and production activities.
Identify cost-saving opportunities, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement to enhance profitability and cost efficiency.
Assist in cost estimation for new products, projects, or initiatives by considering factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses.
2. Cost Allocation and Reporting:
Allocate costs to different products, departments, or projects using appropriate methodologies and tools.
Prepare regular cost reports and financial statements, providing insights on cost performance and variances.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze cost data, resolve discrepancies, and support decision-making processes.
3. Collections Management:
Monitor and manage accounts receivable balances, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices.
Initiate contact with customers to follow up on overdue payments, resolve payment issues, and negotiate payment plans when necessary.
Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address customer inquiries and disputes, ensuring a smooth collections process.
4. Inventory Management:
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records, reconciling physical counts with system data, and evaluating inventory costs.
Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to ensure proper valuation and cost accounting of inventory.
5. Cost Control and Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve cost control measures, streamline processes, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
Implement best practices and recommend cost-effective solutions to drive cost optimization.
Miscellaneous and ad hoc duties assigned by the Controller
Requirements:
Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting is an ASSET
2 years minimum of previous Cost Accounting experience
Demonstrated track record of successfully working with sales and customer service in a fast-paced environment to address billing and customer issues.
Manufacturing Industry experience
Strong Excel - macros, v-lookups, pivot tables
ERP software experience
Willingness to help out team when their work is done, will have to help out with Collections and AR
