Challenging career position for a Cost Accountant in a growing and stable Consumer Packaged Goods Manufacturing company. You will be responsible for cost analysis , budgeting and forecasting and Collections & Accounts Receivable . The Successful individual demonstrates ability to work in a fast -paced environment, can be a team player, with a willingness to wear many hats. You must have strong communication skills.

Reporting to: Controller

Responsibilities:

1. Cost Analysis and Management:

• Track, analyze, and report costs associated with manufacturing processes, including raw materials, labor, overhead expenses, and production activities.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement to enhance profitability and cost efficiency.
• Assist in cost estimation for new products, projects, or initiatives by considering factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses.

2. Cost Allocation and Reporting:

• Allocate costs to different products, departments, or projects using appropriate methodologies and tools.
• Prepare regular cost reports and financial statements, providing insights on cost performance and variances.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze cost data, resolve discrepancies, and support decision-making processes.

3. Collections Management:

• Monitor and manage accounts receivable balances, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices.
• Initiate contact with customers to follow up on overdue payments, resolve payment issues, and negotiate payment plans when necessary.
• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address customer inquiries and disputes, ensuring a smooth collections process.

4. Inventory Management:

• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records, reconciling physical counts with system data, and evaluating inventory costs.
• Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to ensure proper valuation and cost accounting of inventory.

5. Cost Control and Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to improve cost control measures, streamline processes, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
• Implement best practices and recommend cost-effective solutions to drive cost optimization.
• Miscellaneous and ad hoc duties assigned by the Controller

Requirements:

• Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting is an ASSET
• 2 years minimum of previous Cost Accounting experience
• Demonstrated track record of successfully working with sales and customer service in a fast-paced environment to address billing and customer issues.
• Manufacturing Industry experience
• Strong Excel - macros, v-lookups, pivot tables
• ERP software experience
• Willingness to help out team when their work is done, will have to help out with Collections and AR
• Looking for someone that is coachable and has
