Role Purpose/ Summary:




Decibel is looking for a Cost Accountant working out of the manufacturing facility ("the Plant"). This critical Cost Accountant role will (work closely with the Plant Accountant to ensure maintaining adequate internal controls, while timely and properly costing and closing of work orders, accurately reporting on inventory, updating BoM's, and creating new products and investigating operational variances, when needed.

Key responsibilities:



Ongoing analysis of product costs Fieldwork on investigating and explaining production variances Update and support standard costing system by updating product costs and BoM's on a regular basis Quote costs for new products for product development, marketing, and sales group Support in overseeing accurate inventory reporting by ensuring receptions and consumptions are carried out in a timely manner, counts are conducted according to established procedures/timeline, and variances are investigated, explained, and reported Daily review and input of inventory invoices against receipts and outstanding purchase orders Support monthly reporting of CRA B300 Cannabis Duty and Information Return under Excise Act and B301 Application for a Refund of Cannabis Duty under the Excise Act Adherence to internal controls and recommending additional controls, where needed Contribute and support quarter end, year end close and budget processes Other duties as requested by your manager

Strong written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and processes Problem solving mentality Strong sense of accountability and rigor Able to multi-task efficiently and perform under tight deadlines

Qualifications:



Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or similar, with 3-5 years of relevant experience is required Working knowledge of cost accounting in manufacturing industry 3-5 years working with ERP systems such as Sage X3 or other similar system Must have a strong understanding of best accounting practice Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports 2-3 years of experience preparing project budgets and financial forecasts Highly proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, is a required skillset
