Insect identification and ecology, biodiversity and conservation, invasive species, insect-tree interaction, biological control, pesticide use, and integrated pest management.

Class Schedule:

Lecture: Wednesday 1:00PM - 3:00PM
Tutorial: Wednesday 3:00PM - 4:00PM

Sessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2024 - April 30, 2024; please note that this position includes the completion of any course work and grading not completed by April 30, 2024

Estimate of the course enrolment: Approximately 30-35 students

Salary: Co-Sessional Lecturer I - $4,728.95; Co-Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $4,965.40; Co-Sessional Lecturer II - $5,060.89; Co-Sessional Lecturer II Long Term - $5,163.31; Co-Sessional Lecturer III - $5,181.38; Co-Sessional Lecturer III Long Term - $5,285.01 (inclusive of vacation pay)

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Minimum Qualifications: Preferably holding a Ph.D. or working towards a Ph.D. degree with extensive experience in forest ecology and entomology; teaching experience an asset.

Description of Duties: Co-teach course with professor. Prepare and deliver lectures, organize guest speakers, maintain course notes and readings, organize lab and fieldwork sessions, set and mark course assignments, which may include mid-term, essay and final examination or other assignments, with the support of a TA; compile, record and submit final marks. Be available to students through regular office hours.
