Horwitz, Finder, is an established law firm, in midtown Toronto, and is seeking a
Corporate/Business Law Clerk
to join our firm.
BUSINESS/CORPORATE LAW CLERK
The role requires a unique blend of skills and experience providing general and administrative support in our Business and Corporate group. The position will require a confident, reliable and business-minded individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
The successful candidate will have:
Professional experience working in a corporate and business law practice (required)
Professional experience working in a real estate practice (preferred but not required)
Knowledge of corporate matters (i.e. organization of minute books, preparation of corporate resolutions & share transfer documentation, etc.)
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe
The ability to work independently and follow instructions
Superior organizational skills with specific attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Outstanding client-relation skills
Quick and accurate typing
Principal Responsibilities:
Prepare routine legal documents for corporate and business files
Preparing and proof-reading correspondence and accounts for various transactions
Maintain all files from start to finish
Process incoming and outgoing mail
Ability to prepare leases
Organize corporate minute books and prepare requisite documentation to facilitate transfers of shares
Liaise with clients and other law firms
Draft and arrange final reports
Manage scheduling for lawyers
Answer and transfer all incoming calls on a multi-line telephone system.
Various clerical duties as required
The Firm:
Horwitz, Finder is located in mid-town at Yonge St. and St. Clair Ave. W. (45 St. Clair Avenue West, Suite 101, Toronto)
Hours for this position are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (with some flexibility to be adjusted)
This is an in-person, full-time position (Monday-Friday)
Compensation:
Salary and benefits will be competitive and will be based on experience.
