The Corporate Tax Manager position is a great opportunity to be part of the team, providing support to tax accounting and compliance functions for corporate and segregated fund entities for ivari Canada. In this role you will:Coordinate, prepare and reconcile all corporate tax return filings for ivari and related affiliated corporations
Prepare tax provisioning including Return to Assessment to provision / accounting to facilitate financial reporting for these entities in accordance with IFRS
Reconcile the tax payable/receivable balances and the general ledger
Manage the Internal Control for Financial Reporting (ICFR) process for corporate tax
Coordinate the preparation of audit working papers with the respective tax authorities and liase with auditors on queries.
Manage the Internal Control for Financial Reporting (ICFR) process for corporate tax
Respond to Audit queries and review with management
Manage ivari's policyholder CRA and RQ withholding tax (source deduction) business accounts
Support with compliance review for Policyholder Taxation processes and procedures
Support the Senior Tax Manager with special projects
What we are looking for...
University degree in commerce, accounting, law, actuarial science or related subject or equivalent experience and education.
3+ years of experience in corporate tax in an insurance/financial services sector
Canadian and/or US Professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
Completion of or working towards completion of the In-Depth Tax Program or Masters of Tax program
Ability to diagnose and solve complex financial problems
Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks,
Strong analytical skills, and attention to detail
