About the Role





The Finance Advisor will support the Controller team with PST reporting and be responsible for executing all aspects of Provincial Sales Tax (PST) compliance and reporting. This role ensures accurate self-assessment, supports audit readiness, and provides insightful analysis to support financial transparency and decision-making. This is a role for a finance professional who is happiest working in reports data, digging into the details and has a strong understanding of corporate tax filing.

You will use your expertise to:



Lead the preparation and submission of PST self-assessment reports in compliance with provincial regulations. Accountable for PST-related inquiries, ensuring documentation and processes are audit-ready. Support the provincial government Audits and accountable for closing the findings Analyze financial data to identify PST implications and provide recommendations for compliance and optimization. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure proper PST treatment across transactions. Support the Controller with ad hoc reporting and analysis related to indirect tax and financial controls. Ability to drive execution and stretch the performance of people with a wide range of capabilities Comfortable with change and ambiguity such that informed decisions are made without undue delay Courage to hold strong to views when challenging current practices to encourage exploration of new ideas that drive improvement, i.e., Digitization Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to Diversity and Inclusion through collaboration across functional and cultural boundaries Develop the capabilities of others through coaching, mentoring, and providing growth opportunities that help people build their careers



To be successful, you will have:



Post secondary degree/diploma in Accounting, Finance from an accredited technical school or university 7-10 years of demonstrated experience in financial reporting with a specialized accumulated experience in Canadian corporate tax reporting filing. Experience working with Canadian government agencies Strong understanding with SAP financial modules or similar ERP. Strong analytical skills and working with large amount of financial data Demonstrated experience working with huge sets of financial data and is responsible for its accuracy. Experience working in an operations organization, preferably in heavy industry manufacturing and oil and gas production. Commercial curiosity to fully understand and explore value opportunities Ability to analyze financial and non-financial information and communicate outcomes to people from various backgrounds Strong problem-solving and decision modelling skills Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels throughout the organization, and experience participating in cross-functional initiatives or projects

This role requires that you:




Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)

Hybrid work model, with minimum 2 days per week in the office, and will increase as required by the team norms, and work cycles demands.
