The Opportunity:




The Corporate Security Assistant (CSA) is primarily responsible for day-to-day administration requirements within Corporate Security. Including but not limited to: Initial incident report reviewing and tracking, assisting with investigations, record keeping, budgeting, email management, responding to alarm and patrol requests, field-visits relating to the service of corporate security devices and analyzing daily patrol reports.




Responsibilities include:

Provide administrative support to the corporate security team by monitoring and triaging email notifications and forwarding to appropriate team member(s), responding to telephone inquiries, and processing invoices and purchases Act as a point of contact for physical security, access control issues and assist in training, incident review, access control, and addressing day-to-day corporate security concerns Ensure staff have appropriate and applicable access to city facilities, assist with urgent and last-minute access requests, and proactively monitor the accessibility security process to ensure employees have the most up-to-date access privileges for city buildings Assist Security Generalist, Security Advisor, and various departments in conducting investigations, executing security reports, and providing detailed information as requested Assist in analyzing reports, designing and implementing security controls and measures to protect against unauthorized access, breaches, and other security threats Assist the corporate security team in onboarding new employees, explaining the importance of corporate security issuing access credentials Collaborate with the Health, Safety and Security team to create and update learning materials, as well as updating forms and documents Attend meetings with business partners and the Health, Safety and Security team to support corporate security initiatives Assist team members with execution of projects including conducting research, managing information, coordinating meetings, creating reports and presentations Stay current with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies, and assess their potential impact on city infrastructure Provide occasional back-up on-call, after hours assistance for City employees, contractors, and law enforcement Backup and support the Health and Safety Administrator with purchasing and invoicing for the Health, Safety and Security team

You Bring:



Post-secondary education, certificate, or diploma in Business Administration, Office Administration, Public Administration, Administrative Studies, or a related field, or currently pursuing such qualifications Microsoft Office Specialist Certification would be an asset Project Management Certification would be an asset Communication Skills Course would be an asset. Security Service Worker license an asset Knowledge and experience in Health, Safety, and Security or a similar position an asset Knowledge and experience in Genetec Security Desk software an asset Prior experience creating and updating documents and materials Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft office suite Prior experience within a municipal environment would be an asset Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective, positive, and collaborative working relationships Ability to communicate information in a clear and concise manner, with excellent interpersonal skills Strong initiative and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in document creation and record keeping. Excellent adaptability, ensuring the ability to quickly align with shifting priorities, work assignments and timelines. Ability to be a positive influence in a team setting A growth mindset with a desire and willingness to learn Ability and willing to accommodate a flexible schedule that may require working outside of regular business hours

This is a part time position with 18.75 hours per week.
