Scope of Position

Establish and foster a consultative relationship with EDF Renewables North America hiring managers in Canada and the US to recruit and hire the best possible candidates for all open positions. Responsible for the full lifecycle of recruiting activities including, but not limited to, reviewing skill requirements with hiring managers, advertising open positions, sourcing and selecting candidates, conducting phone interviews, interviewing candidates, obtaining approvals, negotiating job offers and facilitating the hiring process.

Provide support to the US Talent Acquisition team based on specific assignments and needs.

Also work directly with other HR team members in Canada and the US on special projects as needed to support the overall positive impact of HR at EDF Renewable North America.

Hybrid telecommuting/presence position in the downtown Montreal office.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Director of Talent Acquisition to identify staffing needs, workforce planning strategies and search assignments;
  • Execute key recruiting processes including managing the process, selection, offer, negotiation, closing and all administrative components;
  • Lead strategic discovery sessions with recruiting leaders to gain a comprehensive understanding of the position requirements, departmental goals and the organization's business plan;
  • Manage the referral, selection, offer, negotiation, closing and administrative components involved in the full recruitment life cycle;
  • Provide quality service to candidates, including informing and engaging with them, as appropriate, in a manner that promotes transparency, simplicity and respect;
  • Build a strong network of professionals with a focus on our industry;
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with EDF leaders, vendors, community organizations, colleges and various professional organizations to create a partnership that results in success, predictable outcomes and credibility;
  • Utilize a variety of resources to find candidates: job boards, telephone canvassing, creative online searches, social media, internal job posting site and employee referral program;
  • Compile reports and make recommendations on continuous improvement efforts and track the effectiveness of recruitment methods;
  • Keep abreast of trends and innovative recruiting techniques in order to be competitive in cutting edge recruiting practices;
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:
  • Degree in Human Resources or related discipline preferred, or comparable professional experience in talent acquisition
  • Minimum three years of in-house/corporate recruiting experience which includes developing talent attraction efforts for technical positions.
  • Minimum of three years of consulting hiring leaders on recruiting best practices and behavioral-based interview techniques
  • Significant experience working and consulting with HR Business Partners and HR Centers of Excellence to support business leaders with their overall workforce requirements
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills, and knowledge of behavioral interviewing techniques
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, ability to handle highly complex hiring processes and follow through to conclusion.
  • Demonstrated experience using creative recruitment methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicant tracking systems.
  • High level of expertise with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of various employment laws
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in an appropriate manner.
Fiscal responsibilities: None.

Working Conditions: 90% of time is spent in an office environment, using computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones and general office equipment. 10% of time is spent out of the office visiting vendor and/or internal customer sites and attending various conferences and meetings.
