If you are ready for the challenge, while reporting to the Director, Policy and Research, as the Corporate Policy Coordinator you will support the division and department on various policy initiatives. This includes working with community partners, supporting briefings to senior management, improving processes and support and coordinate internal decision making.Primary AccountabilitiesAs the Coordinator, you will provide coordination, project management oversight, and support to the department with respect to a number of corporate policy functions. Specifically, you will:
  • Develop effective working relationships across government departments and within the department using a collaborative approach to gather information from partners.
  • Contribute to the effective resolution of issues of concern that may exist between the department and its partners.
  • Coordinate the departmental approach to submissions to Executive Council,
  • Support the department to meet legislative requirements under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act,
  • Coordinate and develop briefing materials for Committee appearances, PT-FPT meetings and key partners meetings,
  • Support Seniors\' Advisory council (SAC) meetings by attending, ensuring appropriate catering, taking minutes and answering general questions of the membership,
  • Responding to requests for Jurisdictional information,
  • Support bi-annual House of Assembly preparation; and
  • Work with considerable independence and using your expertise to devise innovative and effective strategies and approaches to meet corporate standards and policies.
Qualifications and ExperienceYou hold a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree plus a minimum of two years related experience; A diploma plus four years of experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience as demonstrated in the application.You are comfortable using Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and Outlook and use these tools to help you organize information and work more efficiently.You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a proven ability to explain complex information in a way that people can easily understand. You have experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and have the ability to collaborate with a range of partners, including staff from other government departments, public sector organizations, private sector entities, and community organizations. You have the ability to consider alternative solutions to problems, and develop one or more recommended solutions. You are flexible and adaptable and demonstrate a willingness to contribute to the team\xe2\x80\x99s mandate and priorities.You have excellent writing skills and proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills. You have attention to detail. You are conscientious about your work and have well developed project management, time management and organizational skills to carry out work within tight timelines and effectively manage competing priorities in a busy work environment.
