The Opportunity

We are #hiring a Corporate Planning and Reserves Technologist to work out of our Calgary head office. You will be a key player within the organization, providing corporate reporting and reserves support and oversight, maintenance, support / training, and establishing and maintaining best practices associated with our corporate planning and economics software, Mosaic. Mosaic is used by all asset teams throughout the organization for the purposes of production forecasting, capital tracking, budget planning and execution, project economics, long range planning and reserves management. You will also assist to ensure data accuracy / consistency along with data gathering as you support various corporate planning and reserves functions and analyses.
What you will do
Provide corporate oversight of our budget planning software, Mosaic, including creation, maintenance and updating of corporate price decks, FX rates, asset hierarchies, vintages etc.
Act as the internal single point of contact for Mosaic software support and coordinate with the external vendor as needed
Assist with corporate planning functions and analysis, primarily in data gathering and reporting including, but not limited to, capital and production forecast updates, annual budgeting processes, project economics, long range planning updates, scenario analysis, incorporation of acquisition information, project / acquisition lookback analysis, etc.
Support the year end reserves process by coordinating data transfers, managing the reserves schedule with both internal stakeholders and external reserves evaluators and developing and maintaining business intelligence dashboards and visualization tools
Assist Finance in the creation of year end disclosure documents including the Annual Information Forms for the corporation and provide ad hoc corporate reserves reporting and sensitivity runs
Coordinate and communicate with the various asset teams and business units on regular and ad hoc forecast updates; liaise with other corporate functions such as business development and reserves
Assist users with the software when questions arise and onboard new users; document and discuss Vermilion requirements and their implementation in the software
What you will bring
Power user of Mosaic combined with strong Excel skills, Power BI and a solid understanding of how to extract data from Mosaic using export methods and / or SQL
Minimum of seven years oil and gas or related experience, preferably in a similar role
Excellent interpersonal skills and acute attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively supporting diverse groups
Strong team player with the ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing business environment
Experienced with logic-based and value-add decision making and a demonstrated proficiency with analytical and problem solving skills
Available to travel on a limited basis and willingness to occasionally accommodate varying time zones
