The Corporate Partnerships Officer is responsible for developing, managing and fostering relationships between Pilgrims Hospice Society and its corporate partners. Working alongside the other members of the Fundraising and Marketing teams, this opportunity is ideal for an individual with experience in building and managing financially strong and mutually beneficial corporate relationships with a good understanding of developing and managing pipelines and a strong aptitude in partnership management, business development and account management.
This role will focus on leveraging current relationships and building a pipeline of new prospects and opportunities to build sustainable and meaningful partnerships that create shared value. The ideal applicant will have experience developing corporate partnerships for non-profit organizations or private sector experience and interested in transitioning their skills into the non-profit sector. The Corporate Partnerships Officer reports to the Director, Fund Development and to the Chief Executive Officer and will work with other fundraisers within the organization, as well as in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Generate revenue through new and existing corporate partnerships to meet annually agreed income targets.
Develop, and work with internal team members to execute, tailor-made and innovative corporate strategies and experiences to increase partner engagement and revenue for pre-existing events.
Develop and present proposals to potential corporate partners both alone and, when appropriate, by strategically involving a member of senior leadership or the Board.
Maintain and grow new business and partnerships pipeline with a major focus on acquisition of new partners.
Maintain and build strong relationships with individuals, corporations, and other stakeholders to more fully integrate the philanthropic support for other revenue fundraising streams.
Complete quarterly reports on corporate partnerships and budget against plans and forecasts.
Record and report on account management activity using Raiser's Edge.
KEY OUTCOMES
Successfully manage a portfolio of Pilgrims Hospice Society's most generous corporate supporters who engage in long-term partnership.
Build a substantial pipeline of new prospects.
New strategies, experiences, and partnership concepts are taken to the market for acquisition of new prospects.
New partnership approaches are trialed with corporate partners in the shared value space.
Revenue and expense budget goals are met so that program outcomes can be achieved.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
A minimum of five years related experience with proven expertise in revenue generation, account management and corporate partnerships management.
University degree (or equivalent) in business, sales, communications, or community development is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
Experience, knowledge and contacts from within the non-profit sector and business community is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in building strategy in the sales or corporate giving environment, planning all steps in corporate relationship management.
Past success preparing and presenting proposals for corporations and securing funding.
Experience developing and managing the pipeline of prospective corporate partners.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including persuasive abilities, effective listening, diplomacy and tact, team-playing with demonstrated success in dealing with corporations.
Mature, charismatic personality possessing the style, stature, leadership and diplomacy required to work effectively with senior staff and volunteers.
Ability to work independently but also operate efficiently and effectively within a collaborative team environment.
A strong knowledge of the motivations of corporate social responsibility or community investment.
Evidence of ongoing upgrading of relevant skills.
Experience using Raisers Edge (or a similar CRM system) is an asset.
CFRE designation or a designation in sales or business development is an asset but not required.
Satisfactory criminal record check, required prior to contract start.
