Base Salary Range:
$80,000 to $105,000 per year, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and the overall scope of responsibility.

This position manages corporate health and safety programs including COR, WCB, Lockout Tagout (LOTO), Fire Response, First Aid, and Regulatory Compliance. The role is based out of Calgary or Lethbridge, with travel required approximately 25% of the time to support multiple NWTC locations.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Leadership (60%)
Facilitate monthly Health & Safety Committee meetings
Collaborate with senior managers to create and embed safety plans into daily operations
Define, teach, and model what strong OHS culture looks like
Develop and implement HSE policies across all NWTC locations
Ensure worksite inspections are completed and action plans are executed
Conduct weekly and monthly equipment and vehicle documentation reviews
Manage WCB submissions, follow-ups, and claims processes
Lead COR certification and auditing processes across the organization
Oversee programs for Lockout Tagout, Fire Response, and First Aid readiness
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and provincial OHS regulations
Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
Recommend and implement workplace safety improvements
Lead the development and execution of emergency response plans in collaboration with relevant departments
Safety Reporting (20%)
Create and manage a comprehensive safety reporting system
Produce in-depth reports by location and region on safety incidents and improvements
Prepare and present detailed WCB reports for senior management outlining metrics such as time missed, near misses, nature of injuries, and return-to-work timelines
Ad Hoc Projects (20%)
Maintain accurate digital and hard-copy safety records
Complete and distribute annual CI/OH&S binders
Lead internal COR auditing every two years
Participate in cross-department safety projects and initiatives to drive continuous improvement
Education & Experience
Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field preferred
CRSP designation (or working toward) considered an asset
Minimum 5 years of Health & Safety experience, including 3 or more years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of OHS laws, standards, and regulatory compliance requirements
COR auditing experience is a significant asset
Safety certification training (for example, First Aid, Fire Safety, LOTO) is highly valued
Proven ability to turn challenges into practical, effective solutions
