THE JOB

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Corporate Development Associate is responsible for overseeing the development and analysis of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making and contribute significantly to growth-based initiatives. This position will work closely with other departments and stakeholders to gather and interpret data as well as communicate financial insights and recommendations to Weston senior leadership and other key stakeholders.

This is a hybrid position, and the successful candidate will commute to the Mississauga-based office at least 3 days per week.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:00am \xe2\x80\x93 5:00pm

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making related to growth-based initiatives
  • Lead and manage the financial planning and analysis function for the organization
  • Develop and present financial reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior leadership and private equity owners
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics and financial indicators to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement
  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses as required, including relating to geographic expansion
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Minimum 4 years of corporate development, private equity, M&A or accounting experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • CFA or CPA is a strong asset
  • Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting skills using Excel related tools
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and data management capabilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proven track record of building effective cross-functional relationships and leading cross-functional strategic projects
  • Experience with ERP systems, data analytics and financial reporting tools
