Job Description

We are working with our client to recruit a Corporate Controller to join their finance leadership team. This position is based in Mahone Bay, NS, and offers a flexible hybrid work schedule to support in-office collaboration three days per week while offering the benefits of remote work.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will oversee all aspects of corporate accounting, internal controls, treasury, accounts payable, and credit and collections. This is a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and supporting the organization's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Lead and manage the corporate accounting function, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting
• Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to support compliance and operational efficiency
• Oversee treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting and banking relationships
• Coordinate the external audit process and liaise with auditors and advisors
• Manage accounts payable and credit/collections to ensure strong working capital management
• Support financial planning and analysis with accurate and timely data
• Ensure compliance with tax filings and regulatory requirements
• Mentor and lead the corporate accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture
• Drive process improvement and system enhancements to support scalability

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• Chartered Professional Designation (CPA) designation required
• 5 - 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles in industry
• Public accounting background from a reputable firm and/or experience working within the manufacturing or industrial sector is strongly preferred
• Experience in a multi-entity, cross-border (Canada/U.S.) environment is an asset
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS or ASPE and proficiency in ERP systems coupled with advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Proven leadership and ability to implement processes and drive accountability
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong business acumen with the ability to partner cross-functionally
• Ability to work in-office three days per week in Mahone Bay, NS
