Job Description

A co-op term with J.D. Irving, Limited will provide you with meaningful, hands-on work experience where you can apply your studies. You will expand your professional network by gaining exposure to our leadership teams and develop your skills with the latest tech and best practices. Your work term will provide both practical experience and professional development, setting you up for a successful career in corporate communications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Corporate Communications team in daily activities and assigned projects
• Partner directly with various business stakeholders to develop internal communications campaigns, ensuring the content and creative is consistent and compelling
• Support social media campaigns and community management
• Assist with website content, performance and management
• Assist in creating materials for presentations
• Assist in ad creation for print and digital / social media
• Assist in photography and videography

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Post-secondary education in Public Relations
• Strong communicator and collaborator
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word & Excel)
• Strong customer service skills
• Positive, proactive, very detailed oriented and driven to succeed
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Problem analysis & solving skills
• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
• Photography experience
• Quick learner with a keen interest in a career in corporate communications
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment
• Ability to ensure work is accurate and completed under tight deadlines
