This co-op experience is an excellent way for you to learn about the real estate industry and you will play a key role in supporting accounting and financial analysis along with other responsibilities. This position will also work closely with senior management on finance related matters. We are seeking a candidate for the Winter term (January-April 2023).

Responsibilities:

Accounting:

• Assist in the timely close of CAPREIT's month and quarter ends
• Book necessary journal entries to reconcile between SAP and bank statements
• Variance analysis between Forecast and Actuals, respond to Financial Reporting team's inquiry
• Ad hoc analysis as assigned

• Coordinate and administer the lender underwriting process, including liaising directly with the lenders and answering their follow up questions on a timely basis
• Initiate wires to lenders regarding commitment fee, CMHC application fee and other applicable fees
• Provide required documents to lenders including NOI statement, rent roll, property tax proofs, ESA report and other property-related info
• Assist in annual compliance reporting required by CMHC and lenders
• Refined risk undertaking record

• 0-2 years Accounting or Finance experience
• University student in Business or other relevant discipline
• Strong time management, multi-tasking and organization skills
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite functionality
• Experience with SAP preferred
• Overtime may be required during busy periods
