Job Description

Our Client, a Canadian mid-market private equity firm based in Toronto, is seeking a Corporate Accountant to join their team. Our client is growing quickly, and they are looking for motivated and driven people who can grow with them. This role will start in-office with the flexibility of moving to a hybrid arrangement.

Role Snapshot (not limited to):

• Daily cash reporting.

• Compile and sort documents, such as invoices, debit and credit memos and expense reports, re-calculate and/or verify all charges, taxes, etc., ensure all supporting documentation is included and investigate any discrepancies.

• Handle all banking related requirements including deposits, wires, EFTs, and account transfers.

• Handle all aspects of Accounts Receivable and Accounts payable functions (full cycle accounts payable).

• Prepare all journal entries on Great Plains software system to support monthly financial reporting requirements.

• Prepare bank reconciliations.

• Prepare summaries, analysis, and reconciliations of various G/L accounts.

• Prepare all necessary HST filings.

• Prepare billings related to recoverable expenses and follow-up collection as required.

• Assist in the compilation of the consolidated financial statements.

• Assist in the annual preparation of tax financial statements.

About You:

You have excellent communication skills. You are a self starter and a team player. You have excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. You have strong organizational and prioritization skills.

Your Key Qualifications:

• University Degree.

• Pursuing CPA/Early stages of CPA program.

• 1-2 years of experience working as a Corporate Accountant (full cycle).

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (or equivalent ERP system).
