Job Description


This position is responsible for supporting the Corporate Accounting team in ensuring timely and accurate completion of journal entries (AR/AP, chargebacks, and others), producing reasonability analysis and reconciliations. In addition, support the full yearly accounting cycle process to produce accurate and timely working papers for producing and submitting Financial Statements and tax filings.

Corporate Accounting

  • Verify transactions to comply with accounting policies and procedures
  • Oversee and assist AP/AR processes
  • Manage pre-audit of invoices to verify billing details and amounts
  • Support in updating account receivable, issuing AR invoices, and ensuring the timely collection of AR
  • Manage and create chargebacks across entities in a timely manner
  • Support the preparation of accounts payable checks, manual cheques, wire transfers, and prepare cheques for mailing
  • Assist with reviewing contracts and preparation of purchase orders
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, and review/approve bank reconciliations
  • Prepare Journal entries
  • Responsible for month-end and year-end closing
  • Support with Credit Card processing and Employee Expense Reports
  • Prepare and support with monthly and quarterly HST filing process
  • Assist the controller with ERP maintenance and producing reports
  • Produce, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures
Reporting & Analysis
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain proper booking and reporting
  • Produce management reports for the control and tracking of each corporate entity including:
  • Profitability and cashflows
  • Monthly variance analysis
  • Sensitivity analysis
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested

  • University Degree or Diploma in Accounting
  • CPA or CMA accreditation or in progress will be considered an asset
  • 3+ years of experience in related roles
  • Experience with Acumatica/New Star/Yardi will be an asset
  • Familiarity with corporate accounting and handling multiple entities
  • Excellent working knowledge of month-end close and reporting processes
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Able to produce significant output concisely and timely
  • Advanced English verbal and written skills
