Position Overview



The Corporate Accountant supports GreenMantra's financial reporting, accounting, and compliance activities within a manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Controller, this role ensures accurate and timely financial information for Canadian operations while managing cross-border transactions with U.S.-based employees, customers, and vendors. The ideal candidate brings strong IFRS expertise, manufacturing finance experience, and knowledge of U.S. tax and compliance in a collaborative, growth-oriented setting.



This is a hybrid position.


As a team member, you can expect to:




Financial Reporting & Controlling


Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS. Develop financial reporting packages for senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and external lenders. Support annual audits, ensuring accurate and timely submission of documentation to external auditors. Assist in the development, monitoring, and analysis of annual budgets and forecasts. Prepare and file monthly Canadian HST/QST returns, quarterly U.S. state sales/use tax filings and annual tax returns.



Month-End, Costing & Accounting


Maintain the general ledger, ensuring journal entries are accurate, complete, and timely. Execute month-end closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and financial analysis. Oversee inventory accounting, including standard costing, production variances, and reconciliations. Manage and track fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditures. Maintain strong internal controls and assist in developing process improvements for greater efficiency.



Treasury& Tax Compliance


Assist with daily cash flow forecasting, treasury operations, and working capital management. Perform bank reconciliations and oversee the weekly cheque run. Support Canada and U.S. payroll tax compliance in coordination with external providers. Assist with Canada and U.S. federal and state tax filings related to sales, payroll, or business operations. Work with advisors to ensure compliance with both Canadian and U.S. tax regulations. Monitor and record foreign exchange transactions and fluctuations accurately.



Analysis, Systems, and Continuous Improvement


Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support management decision-making. Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and enhance financial reporting tools. Support and optimize ERP system (datacor), tools, or automation initiatives. Collaborate closely with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory reporting.



Other Duties


Provide backup support for accounts payable and receivable when needed. Support corporate filings, compliance reporting, and audit preparation. Participate in special projects and cross-functional improvement initiatives.



What we're looking for:




CPA designation (or in the final stages of completion) is required. Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Proven experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and external audits. Strong understanding and application of IFRS. Solid understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis. Exposure to U.S. accounting and tax compliance (customers, vendors, payroll, or filings). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, with excellent attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively across finance, operations, and leadership teams. Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. High degree of integrity, confidentiality, and commitment to continuous improvement.
