Job Summary
Simpcw Resources LLP is growing rapidly and looking for a dependable and enthusiastic Corporate Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Controller, the
Corporate Accountant
will be responsible for monitoring and supervising the day-to-day financial operations.
Responsibilities
Complete daily reviews of bank transactions
Prepare tax submissions
Prepare accurate monthly journal entries and reconciliations, month end close
Prepare divisional financial reports
Maintain fixed asset schedules and process monthly depreciation
Track prepaid expenses and inventories
Work with implementation and maintenance of internal controls, policies, and procedures
Provide information to managers to support decision making
Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Participate in new system implementation
Ad hoc projects/work as required
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Post-Secondary education in Finance/Accounting
Three to five (3-5) years accounting experience
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a focus on meeting deadlines
Organized, detail oriented, and a high degree of accuracy
Strong ability to work well under pressure
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with ERP systems and skilled in Excel
Experience with Explorer software would be beneficial but not required
Experience working with First Nations people is valued
Knowledge of the Simpcw First Nations community is valued
