Job Summary:

Reporting to the Project Geologist, the Core Technician will support the summer drill program at the Schaft Creek project located in Northwestern British Columbia. During the program the Core Technician will work on a rotational basis in a remote camp. This is a seasonal position responsible for supporting the requirements of the 2024 drill program. It is anticipated the position will be temporary position from approximately May 2024 to October 2024.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Contribute to the safe, productive, and cost-effective delivery of the 2024 Schaft Creek drill program through effective and timely:
  • Measurement and marking of diamond drill core;
  • Collection of geotechnical and rock quality data from drill core;
  • Organization of core boxes and sample bags;
  • Collection of high-resolution core photography;
  • Contribute to a culture of teamwork between all project stakeholders, encourage cooperation and open communication; and
  • Support additional project initiatives, leveraging the successful candidate\'s skills and experiences.

Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in a program toward a B.Sc. in Geology or a related discipline and hold or qualify for Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) or Geoscientist-in-Training (G.I.T.) status with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
  • Eligibility to work in Canada is required.
  • Prior experience as a core technician is an asset.
  • Experience working in a remote mining exploration camp is an asset.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift sample bags and core boxes up to 50lbs.
  • Able to work a rotation schedule and live onsite in a remote camp environment.
  • Fluent spoken and written English language skills required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Occupational First Aid - Level 1 certificate with Transportation Endorsement.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000
