Copywriter (Mid / Sr)
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Passport Brand Design, a leader in strategic branding, is looking for a passionate, energetic, relentlessly curious and proactive creative thinker to fulfill the position of Copywriter. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to create something outside of the traditional agency mold, which will help take our work to the next level. Firm deadlines, quick turnaround times, and fluctuating workloads are common for this position; the Copywriter will have the ability to thrive in this dynamic atmosphere and will be able to handle these challenges with confidence and grace. Please note the successful candidate will work on a large client in the nicotine category
DESIRED QUALITIES OF COPYWRITER AT PASSPORT:
Translate concepts into effective messages by writing clear, persuasive original copy
Writing up ideas for presentations, proposals, marketing plans, and variety of other formats and mediums
Writing copy for scripts, case studies, and more
Skilled in writing clear, compelling copy that aligns with and strengthens the brand's tone of voice
Working with the creative team to create decks with a strong focus on ideas and visuals
Successfully communicate (present and sell-in) creative ideas and their rationale to account teams, clients
Collaborate with agency team members from creative, account management, production, strategy to produce smart, powerful work
Contribute conceptual thinking in the creation of integrated campaigns, working across traditional, digital and social media, packaging, products, etc.
Creative ideation for a variety of campaigns
Skilled in cultivating a strong understanding of restricted categories relevant to our clients' brands, enabling the creation of compelling and aligned creative work that reinforces their initiatives and core values
Research industry and social media trends; interesting stories and news related to clients in order to help generate innovative concepts that will effectively contribute to overall creative strategy and campaign success
Participate in briefs, brainstorms, team meetings and presentations to clients
Revise or redevelop creative in response to feedback from the creative director, account team or clients
REQUIREMENTS:
4+ years experience in marketing and advertising
Proven track record successfully selling creative to big-brand clients and prospects
Ability to think strategically, conceptualize creatively and see the concept through to flawless execution
A working understanding of how composition, information hierarchy, and typography work together to drive home a message
Polished client presentation skills demonstrating a clear vision of how the work addresses the client challenge
Desire to work collaboratively as part of a larger team in a fast-paced environment
Alcohol, tobacco/cannabis and pharma experience a plus
A body of work that showcases your writing chops across a variety of clients with an innate ability to bring to life the nuances of a brand's unique voice
