OBECTIFS DU POSTE
Coordonner un programme elabore dans le but d'initier les enfants d'age prescolaire et leurs parents au systeme scolaire, tout en accomodant les besoins et le meilleur interet des familles a faible revenu.
PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITES
Par le biais de l'?Alternate School?, offrir un programme d'initiation de 5 jours pour les 2 a 5 ans dans un environnement securitaire et amusant. - 65%
Assurer l'integration des parents au programme, en creant des occasions d'acquerir de l'experience pratique tout en offrant supervision et feedback. - 15%
Effectuer des rapports d'evaluation et de progres pour les enfants et leurs parents, permettant d'identifier les points forts, le potentiel et les difficultes. - 10%
Au cours des mois d'ete, travailler avec le plus jeune groupe du camp de jour de 6 semaines - 10%
CONNAISSANCES ET HABILETES REQUISES
Posseder les qualifications permettant d'elaborer des programmes educatifs pour les jeunes enfants; connaissances a jour des ressources et des programmes pedagogiques permettant d'ameliorer l'alphabetisation des enfants, l'acquisition du langage, de l'arithmetique ainsi que des habiletes sociales.
Bonnes aptitudes en administration et en informatique.
Capacites a encadrer, superviser et soutenir les parents participants, le personnel et les benevoles.
Capacite de travailler avec des enfants presentant des problemes de comportement et ayant des besoins particuliers.
Bonne comprehension des conditions socioeconomiques, des defis et des forces des familles vivant dans des circonstances economiques desavantagees.
Etre l'aise dans la communaute de Pointe Saint-Charles et bien connaitre ses institutions educatives serait un atout.
Capacite a etablir des liens et a collaborer avec les ressources exterieures et les institutions d'une facon productive et mutuellement benefique. Comprendre l'importance des partenariats et d'offrir des services educatifs efficaces au sein de la communaute.
Bonnes aptitudes en anglais et en francais, a l'ecrit comme a l'oral.
Engagement demontre dans la comprehension des principes de justice sociale.
CONDITIONS DE TRAVAIL
Statut: Contrat de conge preventif et conge de maternite d'environ 18 mois.
Heures de travail: 35 heures de travail par semaine (lundi au vendredi de 8h30 a 15h30) avec un horaire modifie pour le camp de jour du vendredi 19 juin 2026 au 7 aout 2026, de 9h a 16h. Le 10 aout 2026, l'horaire reviendra a 8h30 a 15h30.
Salaire: 22$/heure

To coordinate a program designed to give preschool children and their parents a head-start in the school system, focusing on the needs and best interests of low-income families.
MAJOR REPSONSIBILITIES
Through the "Alternate School", provide a preschool head-start program 5 days a week for 2-5-year-olds in a safe and fun environment. - 65%
Ensure integration of parents to the program, proving opportunities for hands-on experience, supervision, and feedback. - 15%
To carry out evaluation and progress reports for children and their parents, identifying areas of strength, potential and difficulty. - 10%
During the summer months, to work with the youngest group in our 6 week day camp. 10%
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
In possession of qualifications to carry out early childhood educational programs, with knowledge of up-to-date pedagogical programs and resources to enhance children's literacy, language acquisition and numeracy skills as well as their social skills.
Good administrative and computer literacy skills.
Ability to oversee, supervise and support participating parents, staff and volunteers.
Ability to work with children presenting behavioral problems and special needs.
Good understanding of the socio-economic conditions, challenges and strengths of families living in economically disadvantaged circumstances. Familiarity with the community of Point Saint Charles and its educational institutions would be an asset.
Ability to relate to and collaborate with outside resources and institutions in a productive and mutually beneficial way. Understanding of the importance of partnerships in the delivery of effective educational services within the community.
Good spoken and written English and French language skills
Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of principles of social justice.
JOB CONDITIONS
Status: Preventative and maternity leave replacement of 18 months plus starting as soon as possible.
Working Hours: The position requires 35 hours per week. Working hours total 35 hours per week (Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 3:30 pm), with hours shifting for during day camp from Friday, June 19, 2026, to August 7, 2026, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. August 10, 2026, hours shifting back to 8:30 am to 3:30 pm)
Salary: $22/hour
