The Coordinator, WWC Maintenance is accountable for providing cross functional support to all WWC Maintenance through effective planning/scheduling of work. It involves skilled responsibilities such as developing annual preventative maintenance and response plans as well as ensuring weekly and monthly schedules are met. The role is also responsible for coordinating and scheduling work tasks across teams, applying for permits, monitoring performance metrics, contributing to the development of process flow charts, creating and updating work related reports and performing other duties as needed. Additionally, the Coordinator, WWC Maintenance plays a key role in fostering and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including multiple vendors and representatives from the City of Edmonton. Applying technical knowledge of utility systems to meet demands of multiple stakeholders will also be required.

The WWC Maintenance Coordinatoris accountable to the Manager, Wastewater Collection System Maintenance and operates within the context and prescribed limits established by the Manager.

What you'd be responsible for

Working with teams across WWC Maintenance to review and schedule tasks effectively including: + Ensuring work aligns with available resources and that access is provided to the site and prioritizing tasks for timely completion.
+ Collaborate with groups such as Inspections, Flow Control Facilities (FCF), Linear Asset Construction, the Monitoring and Compliance team, Linear Asset Projects, and the City of Edmonton.
+ Collaborate with the WWC Maintenance team to forecast planned work requirements, ensuring adequate resourcing are available throughout the year and evaluating work requests.
+ Provide input to the manager regarding resource deficiencies or efficiencies that can be addressed based on upcoming work forecasts.
Creating work orders and assigning necessary tasks to work orders within IVARA. Contribute to the development of streamlined process flows for work creation and completion within the WWC Maintenance team with a focus on strategically identifying and implementing efficiencies to optimize workflows for future operations. Collaborate with managers, technologists, and team leads across the business unit to gain a comprehensive understanding of current work development processes. Collaborate with WWC Maintenance Managers and Team Leaders to establish and report on performance metrics that serve as a foundation for driving continuous performance improvement and to support PBR tracking and auditing processes. Identify permit requirements for planned work and submit required permit applications, including but not limited to: + OSCAM
+ Tree By-law
+ HRA
+ Environmental Release permits.
Coordinate with contractors, EPCOR's project team, the City of Edmonton, and other relevant parties to minimize traffic disruptions. Adapt work plans as needed to accommodate evolving permit requirements. Work closely with the WWC team to identify opportunities and address concerns regarding fleet units and equipment. Engage with vendors and EPCOR's procurement and fleet divisions to acquire essential goods and equipment, ensured continued maintenance, and enhanced operational capabilities. Analyze and review stakeholder-provided technical drawings and advise the project team on execution, considering existing utility drawings, customers drawings and traffic management plans. Respond to urgent/emergent events by planning the work associated with them and by dispatching crews. Support the completion of Safe Work Plans for ongoing work. Contribute to detailed inspection information in GeoFit of the infrastructure accessed; including work performed, debris found, mainline stoppages released. Coordinate with diverse project teams to achieve project objectives, and coordinate meetings with key stakeholders. The project team may include external (consultants, construction contractors), and internal (design engineers & technologists, construction managers surveyors, inspectors, and construction supervisors) resources.


What's required to be successful

Diploma from an accredited engineering technology program (Civil Engineering Technology) or equivalent. Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation with ASET is considered an asset. Minimum of 4 years in coordination/design and construction of drainage, municipal or civil infrastructure. + Those with less experience may be considered at a developmental level.
Experience with drainage maintenance systems and processes is considered an asset. Experience with scheduling and resourcing software is considered an asset. Strong safety focus and the ability to lead by example to set the tone and direction for health and safety on work completed within WWC Maintenance. Technical knowledge of drainage engineering design and construction. Ability to analyze technical information and make timely, well-rationalized decisions. Considerable knowledge of safe operation and occupational hazards applicable to the work. Able to compile accurate monthly reports detailing all aspects of work completion. Excellent planning, communication, and organizational skills to manage stakeholder deliverables. Ability to learn and use software and technology as required, to effectively deliver projects and complete necessary reporting. Proficient in managing multiple, often competing priorities to deliver high value outcomes to a diverse range of stakeholders. Skilled in applying technical expertise to analyze and propose solutions, and effectively manager risks.
