COORDINATOR, PUBLIC SPACES & SUMMER PROGRAMMING - CANADA SUMMER JOBS (CSJ) PROGRAM

Reporting to the Associate Producer- Public Spaces and in collaboration with the Company Manager - Summer Programming, the successful candidate will work to support on-site events at the NAC. Additionally, the candidate will gain experience on how to advance and execute live music, theatre or community events, and gain skills in marketing, communications, and event promotion.

Requirements: Required qualifications:

  • A strong interest in non-profit management, particularly in a performing arts setting;
  • Proficient in MS Office;
  • Proven time management skills;
  • Attention to detail, precision and adaptability;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Must be able to maintain discretion and absolute confidentiality at all times;
  • Ability to follow directions and work with limited supervision;
  • Project management experience an asset;
  • Ability to communicate in both official languages (English and French) is an asset.
Additional Info: Who can apply:
  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment.
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents who identify as women, Indigenous, Black, Persons of Colour (IBPoC), persons from 2SLGBTQ+ communities and persons with disabilities.
**International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible. As the objective of the Canada Summer Jobs program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student\xe2\x80\x99s time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.
