We are currently looking for a Project Coordinator for a 12 month Term share the overall accountability for the successful implementation of Nova Scotia Power\xe2\x80\x99s portion of the Internet for Nova Scotia Initiative. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the administration of project related documents both non-technical and technical in nature. This includes: ensuring proper documentation is created, maintained and archived, as well as tracking and reporting on project engineering documents and creating requisitions and purchase orders.

As Project Coordinator you will:

  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to manage the application process for government issued licenses and permits.
  • Maintain project procedures for activity tracking, manage the procedure, create tracking sheets and track deliverable status.
  • Maintain project information including project files, SharePoint site, project email depository and directory structures.
  • Track and maintain financial data including creating requisitions and processing invoices.
  • Maintain metrics and prepare and provide reports to the Project Lead.
  • Manage logistics for project related activities and provide overall administrative support to the project.

  • The successful candidate will have a University degree or community college/ technical diploma from an accredited post-secondary institute and/or a recognized project management certification or equivalent experience (not specifically required but would be considered an asset.
  • You have a solid understanding of, and experience with document/records management.
  • You can work on multiple projects and manage priorities.
  • You have effective communication and strong organizational skills.
  • You are a self-starter who has the willingness and ability to learn new processes.
  • You have strong analytical and quantitative skills and are attentive to detail.
  • You are a team player with strong interpersonal skills and a sound knowledge of current office procedures and possess proficient typing and computer utilization skills.
  • You have an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Experience with Oracle, SAP or other business warehousing tools would be an asset.
