Reporting to the Sr Manager, Phosphate Rail Operations, this position will oversee a fleet of ~5500 railcars, ensuring a high level of rail car utilization while providing timely service to our customers, both external and internal.
What you will do:

  • Monitor rail car cycle times, analyze cycle time data and prepare management reports and recommendations as needed
  • Work closely with a team of professionals ensuring business continuity, a safety focus and support individual and team objectives
  • Track and trace loaded/empty rail cars
  • Gather eta\'s & information from rail carriers
  • Handle problems and take corrective action with rail carriers as required
  • Effectively communicate with various stakeholders including railways, product management, customer service, plant sites and sales as needed
  • Process rail car billings, rail diversions, and rebills as required by changing business needs
  • Report on rail transit times
  • Maintain the accuracy of rail car locations and report as necessary
  • Some travel may be required
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor of Commerce degree (with specialty in Operations Management) preferred, or other related degree
  • Professional designation in the logistics and supply chain field would be considered an asset
  • Transportation and/or mining experience would be considered an asset
  • Firm grasp of successful business drivers and work well with a focused and dedicated team
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a team focused mindset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary
  • Strong interpersonal skills focused on customer service while optimizing costs
  • Analytical skills, with strength in excel (pivot tables, graphs, charts)
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to engage and act on complex challenges as well as changing priorities
