Description of Work
Reporting to the Director of Tourism, Economic Development, the Coordinator of Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and supporting a variety of marketing, advertising and communications initiatives for the town of Bay Roberts, inclusive of all its departments. This position will work closely with all departments to execute their marketing and communication goals.
Qualifications/ Experience/Skills:
College or University degree in Marketing and/or Advertising, or equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible work experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in the marketing field, experience in traditional and digital advertising an asset.
Advanced knowledge of Graphic Design, video production, inclusive of shooting, editing and related experience required.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including media releases in English.
Experience creating graphics for digital and print platforms, efficient use of image and video editing software.
Must possess a keen eye for design and a high level of quality control standards.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, WordPress, web management, and a variety of social media channels.
Knowledge of marketing for municipal government an asset.
Critical thinking and analytical skills to assess complex marketing issues of concern to stakeholders, including the media, the public, volunteers, and Town Council.
Familiarity with emerging technology and a thorough knowledge of current trends and innovations in marketing.
Skilled at making public presentations and representing the Town in the community and beyond.
Driver's license and access to a vehicle is required
Proficiency in operating a drone for video production an asset
Proficiency in operating a municipal online radio station, including operating, hosting and producing content for promotion purposes an asset.
Proficiency in operating the municipal video and audio system for public council meetings to be broadcast via YouTube.
The successful applicant must provide a copy of official educational documents confirming education requirements, three employment references, a Certificate of Conduct, Vulnerable Sector Check and Drivers Abstract prior to commencement.
