The Coordinator acts as a process and systems support person to the Mental Health and Emergency Assessment Zone and other acute care programs, supporting operations, flow and administrative tasks. The Coordinator will coordinate the daily operations of the assigned programs to support patient flow and a positive patient experience. The Coordinator will ensure adequate staffing, including the completion of scheduling and payroll. They will provide administrative assistance to the team and leadership on daily operational tasks, material management and project work.
The Coordinator understands and supports the hospital values and is accountable for maintaining competence through participation in on-going learning opportunities, maintaining
technical expertise and excellent organizational skills.
The Coordinator may also be trained and expected to work in other mental health and substance use programs, based on operational needs.
Education
- Degree required - Specialization in healthcare, business or human resources preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency of analytical skills and knowledge of analytical software (e.g. Microsoft Excel and other statistical software) required.
Post Secondary Medical Secretary Diploma preferred.
Experience
Minimum 2 years of scheduling experience required.
Minimum 2 years experience providing administrative support required. Preference given to experience in a hospital environment.
Experience working with Labour Relations to interpret and implement Collective Agreements.
Experience working with people with mental health diagnoses and/or substance use challenges preferred.
Knowledge of ANSOS or other electronic scheduling systems an asset.
Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Self-directed; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
Proven decision making, negotiating, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and confidential data.
Good work and attendance record required.
